SSC362 Layered Thoughts

Hello All!  Swinging in late for the Sunday Stamps challenge this week.  I am doubling up, making a downline shoebox swap as well.  Our group usually swap with every new catalog, and I don't have many new sets from this one, so I'm using the sentiment set Layered Thoughts we received from Onstage Raleigh.

I paired the sentiment with some birthday images from Turtle-y Cute DSP (which you can cut out with the Turtle-y Awesome Dies).

Here's this week's sketch by Melissa.

Stamps: Layered Thoughts; Paper: Shaded Spruce, Whisper White, Turtle-y Cute DSP; Ink: Shaded Spruce; Accessories: Shades of Green Hexagons, Turtle-y Awesome Dies, Die-Cutting Machine.

SSC347 Missing You Homie

Hello All!  Today is another Sunday Stamps challenge, and I've got a fall flair home card for you.  Things are super busy this fall around my house and with my downline, so we are not getting a chance to meet up like we normally do with each new catalog release.  Rather, we are swapping cards through the mail.

This card uses the Humble Home bundle from the Sept-Dec Mini Catalog.  I'm still a sucker for a stamp-and-punch combo.

Here is this week's color combination.  Join us, won't you?

Stamps: Humble Home, Thoughtful Wishes, Sketched Plaid BG; Paper: Peach Pie, Calypso Coral, Cajun Craze, Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight, Pecan Pie, Very Vanilla, Mediterranean Blooms DSP; Ink: Cajun Craze, Whisper White Craft, Versamark; Accessories: Opaque Faceted Gems, 3/8" Denim Ribbon, White Embossing Powder, Blending Brush, Humble Home Builder Punch, Banner Punch, Thoughtful Wishes Dies, Die-Cutting Machine, Dimensionals.

SSC338 Winterly Tree Tops

Hello All!  Welcome to another Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.  This past weekend demonstrators attended Creativity Now online event, which included an early release of a new Nests of Winter suite, available in the upcoming Sept - Dec Mini Catalog.  My downline and I always create a swap with the new event bundle, so this was a good occasion to combine my swap with this week's sketch.

It's so nice to have a large collection of coordinating product to create with.  The projects literally creates themselves.  The birds were die-cut straight from the DSP, and I usually back them with an additional card stock die-cut to give them more stiffness.

Here's this week's sketch by Amy.

Stamps: Winterly Tree Tops; Paper: Gray Granite, Basic Black, Whisper White, Nests of Winter DSP; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark, Stampin' Blends; Accessories: Earth Tones Shimmer Gems, Natural Tones Linen Thread, White Embossing Powder, Birch Wood Embossing Folder, Winterly Tree Tops Dies, Die-Cutting Machine, Dimensionals.

SSC336 Monochromatic Beauty

Hi All, Welcome to another Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.  Today I'm combining the sketch with a recent monochromatic swap for the Ilion Shoebox Swap event, using the new Layers of Beauty stamp & mask combo.

Now I'm wishing I had bought the dies, as I'm having to hand-cut these flowers out 12 times.  My card was heavily influenced by one created by Jackie Aitken.

Here's this week's sketch by Claire.

Stamps: Layers of Beauty; Paper: Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Everyday Chic DSP; Ink: Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Memento Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Pearl Jewels, Layers of Beauty Masks, Blending Brushes, Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, Stitched Shapes Dies, Die-Cutting Machine, Dimensionals.

13th Annual Hudson Valley Shoebox Swap

On Saturday, we held the 13th (!) Annual Hudson Valley Shoebox Swap.  We've been stamping together for a long and enjoyable time.  I'm so glad everyone made it with a bit of rain, sleet, wind..., earthquake, impending eclipse... but we keep calm and carry on!

There were goodie bags, door prizes, swaps & food.  It was so great to gather to stamp and chat together again.

Curious about a shoebox swap? Keep an eye out for one in your area on Splitcoaststampers. Or if you are in NY or surrounding states, join in ours!

Cardio is hardio!  This is my twisted swap, using Freshly Made Sketches #625.

Stamps: Exercise Grumplings (Taylored Expressions), Let's Get Physical (MFT), Itty Bitty Backgrounds; Paper: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White, Etcetera DSP; Ink: Crushed Curry, Baked Brown Sugar, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark, Copic Markers; Accessories: White Embossing Powder, March 2021 PP Stencil, Blending Brush, Banner Punch, 3" Circle Die, Die-Cutting Machine, Dimensionals.

The Stamp Review Crew: Enduring Beauty

Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Inspiring you one stamp set at a time

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday of the month.  This week we are focusing on a fun way to add color to your stamp set with coordinating masks, featuring Enduring Beauty.  If you are following the hop in order, you have just arrived from the blog of the very talented Betty Traciak.

One main reason I grabbed the Enduring Beauty bundle was the masks.  I love a quick and sophisticated way to color a large stamp image with some great detail.  Choose a great color combination, the card is practically done.

I've combined my card with Lisa's sketch on this week's Sunday Stamps challenge.  You can make out some triangular shapes in the blooms, yes?

Stamps: Enduring Beauty; Paper: Lemon Lolly, Basic Black, Whisper White; Ink: Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark; Accessories: Iridescent Rhinestone, Linen Thread, White Embossing Powder, Blending Brushes, Drywall Tape, Enduring Beauty Decorative Masks, Dimensionals.

And this card is my shoebox project for the upcoming Hudson Valley Shoebox Swap, happening in Millbrook, NY on April 6.  I'll be sharing more projects and photos on a post after the event.

The key to this card, inspired by Alisa Tilsner, is to color with blending brushes and masks first, then follow up with stamping and heat embossing.

This might be the last hurrah for the lovely and bright 2022-2024 In Colors, retiring on April 30, and the combination of this card really highlights how a few work so well together.  I'm gonna miss them!

Stamps: Enduring Beauty, Charming Sentiments; Paper: Granny Apple Green, Orchid Oasis, Basic Black, Whisper White, Bashful Blue DSP; Ink: Parakeet Party, Granny Apple Green, Orchid Oasis, Starry Sky, Versamark; Accessories: Linen Thread, Soft Sea Foam Seam Binding, White Embossing Powder, Blending Brushes, Enduring Beauty Decorative Masks, Sentiment Silhouettes Dies, Die-Cutting Machine, Dimensionals.

Hop on over to Ellen Woodbridge's blog to see what amazing creations she has put together with this week's set.

With the new Annual Catalog around the corner, it's time to say goodbye to some current favorites.  The Last Chance Sale begins April 9, and the the retiring lists links are below (sortable Excel files). Make sure to mark your catalog so you don't miss anything!

The Stamp Review Crew: Sale-a-Bration 2024

Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Inspiring you one stamp set at a time

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  Today we have a special bonus hop focusing on this year's Sale-a-Bration offerings.  If you're in the Northern Hemisphere, it's a great time of the year to stay indoors and get some crafting done while also earning FREE product!  Only through February 29, make sure you check out all the free products by clicking the Sale-a-Bration icon at the bottom of this post.  If you are following the hop in order, you've arrived from the fantastic Terri Tank's blog.

I'm excited that coordinating paper, ribbon, and embellishments have returned to Sale-a-Bration, so that's what I first focused on collecting from the SAB catalog.  Struggling with the dilemma of how to highlight the coordinating product, I perused the Annual Catalog for a suitable focal image.

This project focuses on FREE SAB Sunny Days DSP, Pool Party Crinkle Ribbon, and Opaque Faceted Gems.

I cut up 2 x 6" and 3 x 6" pieces of Sunny Days DSP diagonally to create the background. This is a great way to highlight patterned paper with a happy rainbow of colors. And working within Stampin' Up designer series paper packs is a great way to achieve coordinating colors and patterns.

I've combined my card with this week's Sunday Stamps color challenge.

Stamps: Ringed with Nature; Paper: Smoky Slate, Pebbled Path, Basic Black, Whisper White, Sunny Days DSP; Ink: Poppy Parade, Shaded Spruce, Balmy Blue, Pebbled Path, Versamark; Accessories: Opaque Faceted Gems, Pool Party Crinkle Ribbon, White Embossing Powder, Bee Builder Punch, Tree Rings Dies, Die-Cutting Machine, Dimensionals.

Hop on over to Ellen Woodbridge's blog to see what she put together with some Sale-a-Bration items. Her projects are always beautiful!
