The Stamp Review Crew: Sale-a-Bration!

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  Today we focus on Sale-a-Bration!  I love this time of year; great new products you can earn for FREE!!  If you are following the hop in order, you've arrived from the fantastic Jessica William's blog.

As soon as my Flowering Fields set arrived, I stamped on some scrap paper and had fun playing with watercolor.  Do you ever do that?  Just love a stamp image or set and play with it for the sheer pleasure of playing?

I was thinking about something other than a traditional look, and I liked a yellow and gray palette I could incorporate from the Sale-a-Bration paper, Wildflower Fields.  I thought stamping on dark card stock would be striking.

Using the White Craft Ink Watercolor technique, I used Whisper White Craft ink to color the flower image, let dry, and then color with markers.

Stamps: Flowering Fields, Six-Sided Sampler; Paper: Basic Gray, Wildflower Fields DSP; Ink: Hello Honey, Delightful Dijon, Old Olive markers, Versamark, Whisper White Craft; Accessories: Crushed Curry baker's twine, White EP, Aquapainter, Dimensionals.

And while I was at it, I designed a simple notecard for stamp club.  Members will be able to pick their background paper, pick their coordinating flower or leaf image, and color in what palette they desire.

It will be more freedom of choice than usual for club, so this should be fun!  We'll end up with a lot of unique cards.

P.S. I just got the Sale-a-Bration set, What I Love, and the little sentiments with the fun script in this set is what I love!  :)

Stamps: Flowering Fields, What I Love; Paper: Whisper White, Wildflower Fields DSP; Ink: Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Old Olive, Basic Black Archival; Accessories: Aquapainter.

Hop on over to Dawn Tidd's blog to see what she put together with this set. Her projects are always so fun!

I love the technique you used for the first card and the simplicity of all of them. I agree about the sentiments in What I Love. That is exactly why I got the set!
