The Stamp Review Crew: Dashing Deer

Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Inspiring you one stamp set at a time

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  This week's hop focuses on a classic Christmas set from Holiday Catalog set, Dashing Deer.  If you are following the hop in order, you have just arrived from the fabulous Tanya Boser's blog.

Our last hop focused on the Buffalo Check background stamp, and I had this patterned deer in mind, but it just hadn't make it to paper.  So I get a second chance this week.

I stamped the background several times, using the Stamparatus to get good ink coverage.  The deer is die-cut with the Detailed Deer thinlits.  I added stamped die-cut antlers as a second layer.  Doesn't that red buffalo check plaid just give you the cozy feeling of Christmas?

Stamps: Dashing Deer, Buffalo Check BG; Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Wood Textures DSP; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark; Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Detailed Deer Thinlits, Big Shot.

And I thought a fall-themed deer card would be fun.  I had birch trees with beautiful yellow leaves in mind.

I'm keeping this card flat and simple for mailing.

We've had a couple bucks visit us in the recent weeks.  They hunt on the adjacent property, so stay over here, dudes!

Stamps: Dashing Deer, Winter Woods, Farmhouse Christmas; Paper: Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Whisper White; Ink: Pineapple Punch, Crushed Curry, Hello Honey, Delightful Dijon, Soft Suede, Memento Gray Flannel.

Hop on over to Ann Schach's blog to see what gorgeousness she has put together with this week's set.

Great card. We get so set in our mind that deer are for Christmas that we never think of them for anything else. You proved that an autumn card is perfect for this set too!
