The Stamp Review Crew: Buffalo Check

Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Inspiring you one stamp set at a time

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  This week is something a little different, a background stamp called Buffalo Check.  Hold on to your hat for a wide variety of projects incorporating this background stamp.  If you are following the blog hop order, you have just come from the very lovely and talented Adriana Benitez's blog.  Aren't her projects always beautiful?

Now my friend Lisa did it!  She thought I should get the Farmhouse Christmas bundle to go along with our new farm, and well, here it is.  What could go better with buffalo check than a farmhouse?

Some masking and marker coloring on this card.  I also colored the fence slightly with some dilute Sahara Sand ink.  The Stamparatus tool is very useful for the background, as you can ink several times to get good coverage.  This card uses CAS(E) this Sketch #289.  I used super skinny slivers of Dimensionals to pop the fence up.

Stamps: Farmhouse Christmas, Buffalo Check; Paper: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Whisper White; Ink: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Sahara Sand, Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Blends; Accessories: Linen Thread, Farmhouse Framelits, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

Hop on over to the fabulous Deb Burgin's blog to see what fun projects she has put together with this week's set.

Finally, a card made with this set that does not copy the catalog sample - where the house is in front of the fence so it looks like the house is in the middle of the road. Arghh. It bugs the heck out of me every time I see that. Your card is so pretty, the colors are perfect.

I love this stamp inked in black and stamped onto white. It's so crisp! Popping the fence up on dimensionals in front of the house provides depth and dimension. What a beautiful card!

Love the clean and crisp look of the black and white and the scene you created. How fun!
(My son has a shirt like this - I keep waiting for him to grow out of it so I can steal it!)
