Stampin' Addicts Winter Holiday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts Winter Holiday Blog Hop!   I know you've had a chance to look at the Holiday catalog.  Aren't the offerings fabulous?!  Yes, my list is long too, but we have to pace ourselves!  ;)   If you have been following the blog hop in order, you have just come from Kathleen's blog featuring the Reason for the Season.  Her projects are fantastic?

Today I'm featuring the stamp set Your Presents.  This set includes both solid images and design images (stripes, trees) to create backgrounds.  The majority of images focus on presents, so the obvious initial project would be a pile of Christmas presents... but you can use it for other occasions as well.

This is a card we recently made at our downline meeting using Freshly Made Sketches #204.  Too many stripes?  I really wanted to play with both the silver cording and new 1/8" striped ribbon.  This set is designed for the kissing technique, but I ended up stamping my paper twice, both the solid and striped packages, for a crisper image.

Stamps: Your Presents, Sprinkles on Top; Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Season of Cheer DSP; Ink: Soft Sky, Old Olive, Garden Green, Memento Tuxedo Black; Accessories: 1/8" Garden Green striped ribbon, Silver cording trim, Silver sequin trim, Dimensionals.

How about a traditional Christmas card?  The set includes a circle stamp and ornament topper to make a variety of ornaments.

Have you tried this trick... use Smoky Slate as a matting layer?   Looks just like silver!  Here you can see all the shine from the heat embossing.

Stamps: Your Presents; Paper: Smoky Slate, Whisper White; Ink: Soft Sky, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Versamark; Accessories: Silver cording trim, Silver embossing powder, 1-1/4" & 1-3/8" Circle punches, Sponges, Sewing machine, Thread, Dimensionals.

Wanting to try something different, I used the geometric shapes to create a nighttime skyline.

For the background, I used watercolor, ink smash, and the galaxy techniques.

Stamps: Your Presents, Jingle All the Way; Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Watercolor paper; Ink: So Saffron, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, White craft, Versamark; Accessories: White embossing powder, Circle punch, Watercolor brush, Sponge.

Make sure you check out the next stop to see what Yapha put together using Holly Jolly Greetings.  I can't wait to see what she created!

Awesome stuff! I love the happy mix of stripes on the first one and pretty composition on the second. (Great tip on using Smoky Slate matting too!) And the skyline is such a neat idea!
