FM85 Grateful Leaves

It is Rita's turn to challenge us on the Friday Mashup.

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:
  1. Make a project with "Leaves".
  2. Or Make a project saying "Thank You".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Thank You project with Leaves".

I loved the wonderfally clean card by Jennifer Brum, and I couldn't resist recreating it for stamp club, with a few minor changes.  And as I'm multi-tasking, this card will have to do as a challenge card as well.  I just regret that it isn't original work.  If time permits, I'll have to come back and make a new card.

Here I used the Woodgrain embossing folder on Core'dinations card stock.  I love the natural cotton ribbon, but attaching it to the card can be an issue.  Here I sewed it to the strip of patterned paper and ran the linen thread under the stitching to attach the bronze button.

And here is the inside of the card.

Seems like a perfect card for this month's Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge, so I'll share it there too.

Stamps: Wonderfall, Apothecary Art; Paper: More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso Core'dinations, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Orchard Harvest DSP; Ink: More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso; Accessories: Naturals cotton ribbon, Linen thread, Brushed bronze button, Woodgrain EF, Autumn Accents die, Big Shot, Sewing machine, Thread.

I did make another leaf card, but eh, I'm not too thrilled with it.  The Clean and Simple challenge on Splitcoaststampers used this inspiration photo.

It's been on my mind, and I wanted to try making water droplets with bleach.  Either it looks great or really sloppy; I can't decide which.

After I added a bit of linen thread to hold my dangling accent leaves together, I felt a little better.

Stamps: French Foliage; Paper: Tangerine Tango, Concord Crush, More Mustard, Very Vanilla; Ink: Tangerine Tango, Concord Crush, More Mustard; Accessories: Tangerine Tango ribbon, Linen thread, Bleach, Sponges, Woodgrain EF, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by!

I like them both! I like how you put the cotton ribbon on the first card. And I don't think I have ever seen the bleach water droplets before....you know what I was thinking? You could add a little crystal effects to the bleach drops to make them 3d-ish....ummm..maybe I will have to try that! Thanks for playing this month! :)

Both cards are fab Heidi! Love the button/cotton ribbon combo with the woodgrain background. That bleached water droplet background is really clever too!

I love both cards Heidi! The first one with the woodgrain looks amazing, and the second one, with those autumn colors and the technique is gorgeous. Great job on both of them! Happy Thanksgiving!
