The Stamp Review Crew: Painted Poppies

Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Inspiring you one stamp set at a time

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  This week we are taking a look at the new Jan - Jun Occasions Catalog with the set Painted Poppies.  There are a couple die sets, Painted Labels & Poppies Moments, that coordinate with this set.  If you are following the blog hop order, you have just come from the very talented Jay Soriano's blog.

I am pairing this hop with Sunday Stamps sketch challenge this week.  I sat down with this set right after last November's OnStage and created several layouts.  One was an unmounted panel, created by masking and free-hand drawing the large stem.

I decided to go back to that panel and combine it with this week's sketch.  I stamped a few more flowers and popped them up for a dimensional look.

Here is this week's Sunday Stamps sketch by Amy.

Stamps: Painted Poppies, Timeless Tropical; Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Peaceful Poppies DSP, Vellum; Ink: Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Pool Party, Basic Black, Versamark, Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker; Accessories: Peaceful Poppies Sequins, White Embossing Powder, Aquapainter, Circle Scissors Plus, Circles Collection Dies, Die-Cutting Machine, Dimensionals.

Playing with our online Virtual Card Making Fun group, I used mood board by Butterfly Reflections, Ink and sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Here I used the background watercolor-type stamp to color the flowers than watercoloring directly myself.  Don't miss that Grapefruit Grove is one of the retiring In Colors.

Stamps: Painted Poppies, Sending You Thoughts; Paper: So Saffron, Old Olive, Gorgeous Grape, Basic Black, Whisper White, Botanical Butterfly DSP; Ink: Old Olive, Grapefruit Grove, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Versamark; Accessories: Rhinestone Jewels, White Embossing Powder, Layering Circles Dies, Die-Cutting Machine.

ICYMI, here are a couple previous cards I've made with this suite.

Make sure you hop over to the always fabulous Bronwyn Eastley to see what fun projects she has put together with this week's set.
