FM151 Rainbow Watercolor Wash Love

It's my turn to bring you this week's Friday Mashup challenge.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using the "Sketch".
  2. Create a project with "Rainbows or Rainbow Colors".
  3. Or mash it up and create a project with the "Sketch and Rainbows or Rainbow Colors".
I stumbled across a card made by Kimberly Crawford and fell in love.  I tried to recreate her magic with Stampin' Up products.

After stamping and embossing the background, I applied ink direct-to-paper style from the ink pad to a silicon mat.  After spritzing with some water, I colored the background with an aquapainter.

Stamps: Positively Chevron BG; Paper: Whisper White, Gold Fancy Foil designer vellum, Gold Foil sheet; Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Primrose Petals; Accessories: Gold Sequin trim, Clear embossing powder, Stampin' Spritzer, Aquapainter, Expressions thinlits, Big Shot, Sewing machine, Thread.

Thanks for stopping by!

I love this technique Heidi. I need to try this technique now! I also like the use of velum on your card. I like how it still allows us to see the beautiful background you created! Great card!

That background looks amazing Heidi! I also love the simple 'Love'....it really stands out against that pretty background.

Great challenge this week!

Hello! I came across your beautiful card on Pinterest and was inspired to make a similar card. I would love you to check it out. I used the chevron background stamp but with neon inks. I made sure to link back to your blog. I always try to give credit to the wonderful designers that inspire me! Thank you!
