Time for more Mix-Ability Challenge catch-up. It is a learning process for me to dabble in different art media, and I hope you are inspired to try it too!
MIX42 - Heavy Metal
This challenge originally called for covering die-cut chipboard pieces with aluminum foil and acrylic paint. I went to the interwebz for some metal art inspiration, and ended up with another process: onto a chipboard piece glue a canvas sheet piece, dry & flattened leaf, and aluminum foil. I used spray adhesive. I didn't like the look of the acrylic paint, so I used black spray paint, dried, then rubbed gently with soft steel wool. It was coming along nicely until I broke through the aluminum foil, so I stopped. Very fun learning experience!
MIX45 - Chalk It To Me! - Poppin' Pastels
I started off my sponging Versamark and Stampin' Pastels through a stencil. From there I built up the scene with Dictionary background and Barnyard Buddies stamps and acrylic paint applied by credit card and bubble packing material.
MIX46 - Merry Mixed Media - Bright projects with two different art media
Little Missy and I finally got a chance to play with the Gelli plate.
We had fun layering the stencils, using Birgit's sample as a model. For
dimension, I added embossing paste to the Falling Snow stencil. A
folded tree with some glitter trim finishes it off.
If you are interested in the supplies used for these projects, you can find them in my SCS gallery. Thanks for stopping by!
