MDSM46 Warm Holiday Greetings!

We're in the home stretch of Christmas prep.  Beth has given us a fun card sketch for this week's MDS Monday, which worked out perfectly for my MDS Christmas postcard.

I had these printed as cards, (will) cut them in half and trim the edges, and then mount them on Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Personalized, yet not a lot of handwriting.  Perfect!

ETA: Mr. Brown was dropping off my print order just about the time this post went live.  So I'm adding my hybrid card.

The snowman was inspired by Jeanna Bohanon's beautiful projects.  I created my own washi tape by editing a punch shape, filling it with Season of Style paper, and lowering the opacity to 90%.

The one thing to keep in mind while designing is the page or card bleed area.  I usually design with the "bleed area on" and "trim to bleed area", to make sure none of my important elements fall off the page.  This is why the "Greetings" banner on the digital export photo looks non-centered.  Since I've started this, it has saved me some time not having to shrink the whole page down when it is time to print.  It is pretty much not fun to shrink things down when you are using Freeform paint layers (they don't shrink uniformly).  :)

Here's the sketch -

MDS Elements: Stamps: Snow Day; Paper: Season of Style; Accessories: Burlap Ribbon - flag; Font: Arial Narrow.

Thanks for stopping by!

This is awesome, Heidi. I was never really sold on this little snowman - but he's so cute here! And I love how you have the warm wishes running across the top of the snow! A Merry Christmas to you and your family!
