MDSM42 Jingle & Joy Christmas

Holly has a fun card sketch for us at MDS Monday. This card uses one of the downloads that is currently 30% off through November 30, Jingle & Joy.

The deer head is a stamp image, but how did I fill it with glimmer paper?  I used a stamp-to-punch technique, shown in a video by Marti Crapo.  It is a straight-forward copy-and-paste technique, as long as your stamp image is in .svg format.  I did the same thing for the "2013" embellishment, filling it with textured card stock.

Here's the sketch -

I can imagine printing and cutting out several items on this card to make a really fun hybrid project, can't you?

MDS Elements: Stamps:  Jingle & Joy - deer head, Jingle & Joy - 2013, Jingle & Joy - christmas eve,  Jingle & Joy - merry, Natural Composition Overlays - 8; Paper:  Textured Card Stock - Cherry Cobbler, Season Of Style - 2, Thankful Tablescape Simply Created - 2, Botanical Gazette - pattern 3,  Glimmer - gold; Accessories:  Burlap Ribbon - flag, Whisper White - Stitching Straight.

The current online hostess code is 4J23AWFG, available through December 1.  Thanks for stopping by!

This looks amazing! I would never have guessed this is an MDS card. That glimmer paper looks so real!

Love your card Heidi! Thanks for leaving the link to the video. I had never tried changing a stamp to a punch, and I'm so glad I learned how. What a fun technique!
