MDSM26 Gold-Star Patient

Hi Everyone, Time for another MDS Monday card sketch.  I was flipping through the Stampin' Up! catalog, and I found a fun layout that would work for a card or photo page on page 125.  Did you recognize it?  You can choose to use stamp brush image or photo(s) for your focal point - up to you! 

To steepen the learning curve a bit, I'm going to challenge you to try the "edit punch shape" technique.  The lower right punch shape was created from Chevron punch #5.  Here is a video to show you what I mean and how to do this.

You don't have to stick with the suggested punch shapes.  Go crazy!  Get creative!  I can't wait to see what you make!!

Of course I have to keep working on my MDS scrapbook pages, and it is quite difficult to find just one photo that I like.  Here I used one of the punch shapes as an insert to help tell the story.

My husband had surgery last Fall for a giant-cell tumor.  You've always got to make fun of a tough guy who's scared of a needle, so I kept up with my "way to go" theme, using the Game Day photobook download.  Here I used one of the template pages for the background, moved some things around, and added the sketch over the top.  Couple little tricks here:

• The houndstooth pattern is actually a stamp image.  I created my pattern on a blank page, exported as a jpeg, and then brought it back into the flag punch shape as a photo fill.
• To get a better idea of how the final page would look when printed, I cropped when exporting (0.15" from top/bottom, 0.35" from left/right).  You can check out Stampin' Up's video on how to do this here.
