Stampin' Addicts Retiring Stamp Set Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts official good-bye party, the Retiring Stamp Sets Blog Hop! Have you scoured through the retiring list? I recommend you mark up your catalog with all the retiring sets, and by all means, grab those talking to you before they are gone! If you have been following the blog hop in order, you have just come from Sara's blog featuring the Elements of Style. Weren't her projects adorable?

Today I'm featuring the stamp set Forever Young. This set has a real Victorian, vintage feel.  The whimsy of the tree and swing silhouette image really drew me to this set, so the first projects I have to share include the obvious horizon focal points.

I wanted to demonstrate both sponging (left), which is a project we also made in stamp club, and also brayering (right).

Sponged Card using Freshly Made Sketches #84: Stamps: Forever Young, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Fan Fair DSP; Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Wisteria Wonder, Old Olive, Basic Black, Versamark; Accessories: Black embossing powder, Paper doily, Sponges, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Big Shot, Dimensionals.
Brayered Card: Stamps: Forever Young; Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Natural Compositions DSP; Ink: Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, So Saffron, Old Olive, Black Stazon; Accessories: Linen thread, Circle punch, Brayer, Sponge, Arygle EF, Big Shot, Post-it Note.

The clock and silhouette portraits reminds me of Grandma.  How fun would it be to create an invitation for Grandma's birthday or the grandparents' wedding anniversary?

I created an unique invitation, along with a couple coordinating party favors.  The little box is created using the (retiring) Petal Card punch, colored to look like a cameo.  Fun!  I also made some marble frig magnets, which could be easily personalized for the event.

Invitation: Stamps: Forever Young, Word Play; Paper: Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Print Poetry DSP; Ink: Soft Suede, Early Espresso, White craft, Versamark, Black Stazon; Accessories: Victoria lace, Linen thread, Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, Sponge, Gesso, Dimensionals.
Party Favor Box: Stamps: Forever Young, Artistic Etchings; Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe (available May 31), Basic Black; Ink: White craft, Versamark; Accessories: Calypso Coral baker's twine, Gold embossing powder, White embossing powder, Petal Card punch, Small Oval punch, Sponge.
Marble Magnets: Stamps: Forever Young; Paper: First Edition DSP; Ink: Black Stazon; Accessories: Gesso, Flat-bottomed marbles, Magnets.

This stamp set makes an adorable family tree.  I pulled a hybrid page together for my daughter, using My Digital Studio for the text.

Stamps: Forever Young; Paper: Pear Pizzazz (available May 31), Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, First Edition DSP; Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso Soft Suede; Accessories: 3/4" Circle punch, Sponge, Adorning Accents edgelits, Finishing Touches edgelits, Big Shot; Font: Academy Engraved LET, Arial.

Make sure you check out the next stop to see what Kim at Stitchin' n Stampin' on Paper put together using French Foliage. Her projects are always amazing.

WONDERFUL projects. All sentimental but with a slightly different feel. The orange horizon card is cheerful and nostalgic at the same time - very cool! And the page - wow - now that I think about it, a page like this is a MUST for every family member!
