Technique: Embedded Paper Or Inset Embossing

Hi Everyone,

One of the Workshop WOWs at the Baltimore Regionals was presented by Debbie Paisie, which she called Embedded Paper. I have also seen a tutorial on Lyssa's blog, calling it Inset Embossing Folder Technique. Either way, pretty fun technique and quite the WOW effect!

Glue smaller shapes, from punches or Big Shot die-cuts, onto your main cardstock panel, and then run it through a large, very detailed embossing folder such as the Square Lattice embossing folder. This will give the appearance that all pieces are part of one piece of cardstock.

This is the card I recreated.

Stamps: French Foliage; Paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke; Ink: Soft Suede; Accessories: Mini Vintage Tag, Always Artichoke ribbon, Square Lattice embossing folder, Leaves #2 die, Big Shot.

And here is a not-so-hot shot of Debbie's WOW board of projects (sorry!). Try clicking on the photo to see it in more detail.

Lots of oooh's and aaah's when she showed us her cards. So go give it a try! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you for sharing the background info on this technique. It's a great one and I didn't know where it originated.
