My Matryoshka Birthday

Have you seen this cute stamp set of the Russian nesting dolls that fit inside each other?? This is the perfect set for watercoloring! The details on these stamps are so fine, it was a challenge for me to color right before I got my first set of reader glasses.

I created little mini envelopes to simulate the nesting action. The set also includes a beautiful decorative strip stamp, which looks like an ornate border for a tablecloth or napkin, once it's colored.

This is a birthday card for my brother-in-law, who visited one of these nesting doll factories on a business trip to Russia. Hope he likes it!

Stamps: My Matryoshka; Paper: Watercolor paper, Brocade Blue, So Saffron, Old Olive, Whisper White, Tall Tales DSP, Summer Picnic DSP; Ink: Black Stazon, So Saffron, Read Red, Brocade Blue, Pumpkin Pie markers; Accessories: Aquapainter, Scallop Trim Corner punch.

Thanks for stopping by!
