For my WOW swap, I want to make at least 50 cards, but I really want to make 100. Well, so far I have one, as I am typing this. *eyeroll* This is a fabulous swap, and I would really like to bring home some spectacular swaps for my ladies. The race is on!
So, for the swap, you have to incorporate a WOW technique. I am making a card I created back in December for the Chinese New Year, using a technique called Paper Lantern. Luckily Stampin' Up came out with Elements of Style, which has a perfect floral image, and thankfully, I got this stamp set at the Michelle Zindorf class.
Once the circular main image is stamped and colored, run it through a crimper. Ink the raised edges with dark ink; I use spots here for more control. I embossed little cardstock "tabs" above and below the lantern with gold embossing powder, and I pulled a thread out of the 1/4" grosgrain ribbon to create a little red tassel for the bottom. I sealed the ribbon from unraveling further with Crystal Effects. The card looked a little plain with smooth red and black cardstock, so I ran the card base through the Big Shot using the Background I Texturz Plate. You can see a hint of it in the first picture.
Ok, now to repeat 99 more times! Wish me luck!!
