The Stamp Review Crew: Geared Up Garage

Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Inspiring you one stamp set at a time

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  This week's hop focuses on the perfect masculine set, Geared Up Garage, which can be bundled with matching thinlits.  If you are following the hop in order, you have just arrived from the very creative Ann Schach's blog.

You'll see below that I previously created a card using the car image, so for a new design, I wanted to focus on the supporting garage images.

So, my eyes and hands might be showing their age, because boy is it hard to color the tools & background in the tool box!  After an initial start with markers, I went with watercoloring, as I find that to be a little more forgiving if I color outside the lines.  In fact, going monochromatic gray means any mistakes might be called intentional shadows.

I needed to darken the background a bit, so I brayered a Whisper White panel with Smoky Slate ink.  This card uses Freshly Made Sketches #377.

Stamps: Geared Up Garage, Amazing Life; Paper: Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Botanical Butterfly DSP; Ink: Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Versamark; Accesssories: Metallic Pearls, White Embossing Powder, Aquapainter, Brayer, Garage Gears Thinlits, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

As mentioned, here's the previous card I made with Geared Up Garage.

Stamps: Geared Up Garage; Paper: Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Whisper White, SAB Botanical Butterfly DSP, Silver Foil Sheets; Ink: Real Red, Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Sharpie Marker; Accessories: SAB Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack, Aquapainter, Garage Gears Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Big Shot.

Hop on over to Stesha Bloodhart's blog to see what gorgeousness she has put together with this week's set.

These are both great cards, Heidi! I love the black, white and gray together. The frames around them really sets off the stamps too.

Oh, wow, Heidi! I love the black, white and gray color scheme. It's the perfect backdrop for the red car. Awesome!
