The Stamp Review Crew: Fabulous Flamingo

Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Inspiring you one stamp set at a time

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  This week's hop focuses on another annual catalog set, Fabulous Flamingo.  If you are following the hop in order, you have just arrived from the very creative Dawn Tidd's blog.

After the holidays, how about a tropical stamp set to warm you up?  I've put this fun set to good use several times.  In November, Stampin' Up! birds of a feather flocked together in Orlando for OnStage.  I put together a Florida-themed anniversary card for my downline, with a nod to our fabulous time together.

This card uses Freshly Made Sketches #367.  I can't resist pairing Fabulous Flamingo with Tropical Chic.  They play so well together!

Stamps: Fabulous Flamingo, Tropical Chic, Waterfront; Paper: Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, Pool Party, Whisper White, Tropical Escape DSP; Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Lovely Lipstick, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, Pool Party, Basic Black; Accessories: Tropical Elements, Linen Thread, 1/2" Granny Apple Green Ribbon, Tropical Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

Now, I wanted to change it up a little bit, and I also need a card for my brother-in-law and his wife to celebrate their new little birdie.

I stamped where I could, and inserted (paper pieced) the beak and baby bundle from Precious Delivery.  Thanks to German demonstrator Tina Kolivopoulos for the stork idea.

This card uses CAS(E) this Sketch #303.

Stamps: Fabulous Flamingo, Precious Delivery; Paper: Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black, Whisper White, Pick a Pattern DSP; Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Versamark; Accessories: Blushing Bride Baker's Twine, White Embossing Powder, Aquapainter, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

Here are a couple previous cards I've made with this set.

What a fun duo of cards, Heidi! Your downline will love receiving such a fun, fabulous flamingo. The baby card is so creative and sweet. Tickled pink is right!
