Welcome to the next Sunday Stamps challenge. The Chinese New Year is coming up February 5; this year is the Year of the Pig. Are you ready to celebrate?
I incorporated some Asian influences into my card (cherry blossoms and paper lanterns). The blossoms were punched out of watercolor paper and then colored and spritzed for smooth blending.
I'll confess I stamped the branch and lanterns four times with varying degree of complications in layout and coloring. By the last time, I was done, although the spacing wasn't great. So a tip: if you want to pull your image to one side or the other, trim your card front and mount on one side of the card base for more pleasing proportions.
Here's this week's colors; I hope you are able to join us!
Stamps: Color Me Happy, Colorful Seasons; Paper: Merry Merlot, Very Vanilla, Watercolor Paper; Ink: Melon Mambo, Berry Burst, Merry Merlot, Crushed Curry, Basic Black; Accessories: Rhinestone Jewels, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Aquapainter.
