The Stamp Review Crew: Rooted in Nature

Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Inspiring you one stamp set at a time

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  This week's hop focuses on the Annual Catalog set, Rooted in Nature, which can be bundled with the coordinated Nature's Roots Framelits.  If you are following the hop in order, you have just arrived from the blog of our newest SRC member, the very creative Mary Haugen.

This is a fabulous set going into the fall, or even for everyday masculine cards.  But with my first card, I wanted to go towards a less traditional, and perhaps feminine, direction, while still staying within the Nature's Poem DSP color palette.

This card uses the sketch from Fab Friday #143.

Stamps: Rooted in Nature; Paper: Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron, Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White, Nature's Poem DSP; Ink: Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron, Soft Suede, Versamark; Accessories: Share What You Love Artisan Pearls, Nature's Twine, 3/8" Crumb Cake Classic Weave Ribbon, White Embossing Powder, Subtle Embossing Folder, Nature's Root Framelits, Big Shot.

I've been working through my UFO pile and putting together card kits for my customers.  I came across one older kit, with a fall-themed color combination, that would work for this stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Rooted in Nature
Although this card uses retired DSP, I thought I'd share since I had it in hand.  I used the stamp-off technique for one tree and stamped the "thinking of you" sentiment on the inside.  The background is brayered.

Stamps: Rooted in Nature; Paper: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP; Ink: Crushed Curry, Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Memento Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Black Mini Sequin Trim, Brayer, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Post-It Notes, Dimensionals.

ICYMI, here's a previous card we made at the New Catalog Launch Party using Rooted in Nature.

All three cards are so beautiful and diverse. I love the look of the white Thinking of You embossed on the tree stump. It fits perfectly and really creates a nice focal point for your card.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I love all three of your cards, Heidi! I would have to say that my fave is the one which uses the retired paper. This was one of my favorite collection of papers, and it works so well with the tree image. Awesome inspiration!

Three great looks for this stamp set, Heidi. I especially love the card you created for your launch party. But the soft colors of the first card are just lovely.
