The Stamp Review Crew: Magical Day

Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Inspiring you one stamp set at a time

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  This week's hop focuses on the Occasions Catalog set, Magical Day, which coordinates with the Magical Mates framelits.  Now, this set and matching framelits are not carrying over, so you'll want to grab a set for yourself right now.  The dies will be while supplies last, so you don't want to wait.

If you are following the hop in order, you have just arrived from the lovely and creative Bronwyn Eastley's blog.

Once upon a snowy Northeast bomb cyclone night, while watching The Shining, I thought I'd attempt some no-line watercoloring.

This is sure a great stamp set for watercoloring!  After stamping lightly with Smoky Slate ink, I found that Smoky Slate is somewhat permanent, and I was unable to "erase" the lines by watercoloring. Good to know.

What started off as play turned into a card for my BIL.  It uses an old Freshly Made Sketches challenge, #113.  I added sky DSP above and tree DSP below to be reminiscent of a magical forest.  The sentiment "Hope your day is magical" is stamped inside.

Stamps: Magical Day, Lemon Zest; Paper: Tranquil Tide, Night of Navy, Myths & Magic DSP, Naturally Eclectic DSP, Watercolor Paper; Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Tranquil Tide, Soft Sky, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy, Fresh Fig, Smoky Slate, Versamark; Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Aquapainter, Sewing Machine, Thread.

I'll quickly share some past samples as well.  This is a stamp club card featuring Brusho Crystal Colour.

And a center step card I shared just last week.  I was super excited about this one, which I gave to my daughter to announce we were surprising her with a trip to Medieval Times for her birthday.

Hop on over to the fabulous Kelly Kent's blog to see what fun projects she has put together with this week's set.
