So Fortunate

I'm fortunate to know you... so fortunate!  Stamping brings us all together from the four corners.  And I'm so thankful you drop in occasionally to see me.

This set from the Occasions catalog, Fortunate to Know You, will not be carrying over.  A moment of silence (and actually inking it up for the first time).  If you love it, make sure to grab yours!

Wow, so I tried the masking technique, and this set with the sketchy lines was soooo forgiving!  Love it!!  I still love the archival ink, even though it is going away, so give it a few long minutes to dry.  Then pull out some upcoming In Colors and have at the coloring.

Stampin' Up! provided us with some In Color combinations to get us started, so I tried this one here.

Here you can see the subtle embellishment of the Glitter Epoxy Shapes.

Stamps: Fortunate to Know You; Paper: Basic Gray, Whisper White; Ink: Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray; Accessories: Glitter Epoxy Shapes, Aquapainter, Dimensionals.

SSC177 Dinosaur Pieces

Hi All, Time for another Sunday Stamps color challenge.  Today I am highlighting a retiring stamp set, Pieces & Patterns.  This set coordinates so well with the matching patterned paper.

I used this card as an excuse to practice cutting out the fun dinosaur shapes on the patterned paper with my Silhouette e-cutter and PixScan mat.  The difficult part was getting my scanner to work well with my computer.

And for consistency, I cut out the dinosaur stamped image with the Silhouette as well.  This card uses Freshly Made Sketches #332.  So sad that beautiful Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim are retiring as well.  {sniff}

Here are this week's colors.  Come join us!  Use a minimum of 3 colors and a neutral of your choice.

Stamps: Pieces & Patterns; Paper: Dapper Denim, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Pick a Pattern DSP, Coffee Break DSP; Ink: Dapper Denim, Basic Black, Memento Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon, Aquapainter, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Big Shot, e-cutter, Dimensionals.

The Stamp Review Crew: Magical Day

Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Inspiring you one stamp set at a time

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  This week's hop focuses on the Occasions Catalog set, Magical Day, which coordinates with the Magical Mates framelits.  Now, this set and matching framelits are not carrying over, so you'll want to grab a set for yourself right now.  The dies will be while supplies last, so you don't want to wait.

If you are following the hop in order, you have just arrived from the lovely and creative Bronwyn Eastley's blog.

Once upon a snowy Northeast bomb cyclone night, while watching The Shining, I thought I'd attempt some no-line watercoloring.

This is sure a great stamp set for watercoloring!  After stamping lightly with Smoky Slate ink, I found that Smoky Slate is somewhat permanent, and I was unable to "erase" the lines by watercoloring. Good to know.

What started off as play turned into a card for my BIL.  It uses an old Freshly Made Sketches challenge, #113.  I added sky DSP above and tree DSP below to be reminiscent of a magical forest.  The sentiment "Hope your day is magical" is stamped inside.

Stamps: Magical Day, Lemon Zest; Paper: Tranquil Tide, Night of Navy, Myths & Magic DSP, Naturally Eclectic DSP, Watercolor Paper; Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Tranquil Tide, Soft Sky, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy, Fresh Fig, Smoky Slate, Versamark; Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Aquapainter, Sewing Machine, Thread.

I'll quickly share some past samples as well.  This is a stamp club card featuring Brusho Crystal Colour.

And a center step card I shared just last week.  I was super excited about this one, which I gave to my daughter to announce we were surprising her with a trip to Medieval Times for her birthday.

Hop on over to the fabulous Kelly Kent's blog to see what fun projects she has put together with this week's set.

Stampin' Up! OnStage Hartford

This past weekend demonstrators from around the world gathered at local conference venues for Stampin' Up's semi-annual OnStage event.  The day includes swaps, display boards, new catalog and products, and presentations.  And fun with fellow demonstrators!  This time around we got a preview of the new annual catalog (insert super excited screaming demonstrators here)!!

I attended the Hartford, CT event with my downline and fellow demonstrator friends.  Here are the little goodies I brought as gifts.

I combined several Paper Pumpkin kits with some current items to put together an OnStage survival kit.  I thought the burlap bags from the September 2014 Paper Pumkin Boo-tiful Bags would make a nice "coffee and chocolate-themed" goodie bag.

Stamps: Jar of Love; Paper: Cucumber Crush, Whisper White, Festive Birthday DSP, Naturally Eclectic DSP; Ink: Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Night of Navy, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark; Accessories: Sept 2014 Paper Pumpkin Boo-tiful Bags, July 2015 Paper Pumpkin Thanks a Latte, Sept 2016 Paper Pumpkin Something Good to Eat, Linen Thread, White Embossing Powder, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Everyday Jars Framelits, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

And, as time allowed, I created several little 3-D favors (Ghiradelli candies) to hand out.

Stamps: Jar of Love, Colorful Seasons; Paper: Berry Burst, Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Naturally Eclectic DSP, Watercolor Paper; Ink: Berry Burst, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Night of Navy, Memento Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Very Vanilla Baker's Twine, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Watercolor Brush, Everyday Jars Framelits, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Big Shot.

I had such a fabulous time sitting with my downline and friends! Thank you for sharing the day with me.

Look at all the fun stuff I came home with!  Stampin' Up events are a blast, and you get so many exciting goodies!  Here's some of what you get at check in (or shortly thereafter).  The catalog being most important!

And at the end of the day you leave with this much stuff!

Notice how the Night of Navy, Calypso Coral, and Pool Party flowers carry through the favors, table setting, and decor?  Can't wait to start stamping with my new supplies.

I don't have a graphic of the new In Colors yet, but I can tell you the names are Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and Blueberry Bushel.

Want to see some make & takes with new product?  Let me share those with you.

This is from the Share What You Love Suite, featuring Grapefruit Grove & Mint Macaron (returning!!).  The stamp set is called Love What You Do, and there will be an early release of bundles available from this suite on May 1.

This card features the set from the Nature's Poem Suite called Rooted in Nature (which I got to take home) and In Color Grapefruit Grove.

From the Delightfully Detailed Suite, this card highlights pre-printed watercolored note cards and Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.

Any Celtic fans out there?  This is the new Graceful Glass Suite, including designer printed vellum and set Painted Glass.  Very fun to use the stained glass technique by coloring with Stampin' Blends markers.  The new In Colors here are Lovely Lipstick & Pineapple Punch (hint: new Blends colors coming!).

Hope you enjoyed the first peek of the new annual catalog products!

SSC176 Magical Medieval Birthday

Happy Sunday, Everyone!  Time for another Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.  This week I decided to create a card for my daughter's birthday to announce we will be taking her to Medieval Times (shhhh, don't tell her!).

I created a center step card, using a Splitcoaststampers tutorial, starting with a 4-1/4 x 11" base.  This card was inspired by an adorable one by Yvonne Pree.

And the inside -

Here is this week's sketch by Heather.

Stamps: Magical Day; Paper: So Saffron, Dapper Denim, Fresh Fig, Soft Suede, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Myths & Magic DSP, Wood Textures DSP; Ink: Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Versamark; Accessories: Myths & Magic Washi Tape, White Embossing Powder, Pattern Party Decorative Masks, Aquapainter, Sponge, Magical Mates Framelits, Home Sweet Home Thinlits, Rainbow Builder Framelits, Big Shot.

So which colors are we talking about?  The colors include Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, & Sweet Sugarplum.  Do you have a favorite?

I thought it'd be fun to review some projects featuring the retiring colors.
