Feb 2015 PP: Layers of Gratitude Notebook

This month's My Pumpkin Challenge is Share Your Story. "Your story matters. Let's share the story behind the creativity." It got me thinking about diaries and notebooks.  I love old-fashioned paper and pencil for jotting down thoughts.  Ideas and notes frame and develop the story.  So my story behind the creativity is to actually create the vehicle that promotes the creativity.

The long accordion panels that comes with last February's Paper Pumpkin, Layers of Gratitude, are very conducive to little notebook pages.  I had this in mind since the kit came out, and this challenge seemed the perfect time to put it to paper, so to speak.  I used a coptic stitch to bind my book together.

I also wanted a way to incorporate the felt from the kit.  A bit problematic since it was already die-cut.  I adhered the full piece of felt to card stock and die-cut again with the Spiral Flower die.  Worked out pretty good, I'd say.

I'm loving this month's challenge.  It really got me digging deep into this kit! As a comparison, it is fun to look back at how the kit was originally designed.

I have detailed instructions, including pictures, that I will send to my Paper Pumpkin Club members.  If you'd like to be part of the club, I'd be happy to send it to you too!  And don't forget the 3-month Paper Pumpkin subscription is on sale right now.

Heidi, your notebook is fabulous! I was just yesterday cleaning out my old PP kits, and came across that felt one which I'd never touched. Thank you for giving me some inspiration on using the felt supplied. Not to mention that I've never heard of coptic stitching. I looked it up and found the subject fascinating. You've added to my knowledge!
