This week's
Friday Mashup is "decade" themed and color blocking. While brainstorming on this decade theme with my teammates, here are some ideas that popped out: classic rock, old phrases like "groovy", bell bottoms, disco/hairy chests/glitter, 80's hair bands, 50's kitchens, classic cars. Feel free to use any of these ideas to jump start your crafting!
When I was perusing my stamps sets looking for images that might represent a decade, I came across a favorite with retro 50's images,
Sip by Sip.
I had the idea to recreate a vintage sign look and incorporate it into a color blocking layout. During a search, I came across this sign several times.
To create the sign, I printed the words on card stock, stamped and paper-pieced the image, mounted on several layers of chipboard, and then sanded and distressed the edges.
This week's Mashup Challenge:
- Create a project using a Decades theme (60s/70s/80s/etc).
- Create a project with Color Blocking.

Awesome card, Heidi. I love the depth of the main panel and that sentiment is hilarious.
