The Stamp Review Crew: Hearts A Flutter

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  As we say goodbye to the holidays, how will we warm our hearts during the long winter months?  Valentine's Day, of course!  Hearts A Flutter is a very versatile set, not just for Valentine's Day.

If you are hopping around in a circle, you have just come from Deb Currier's blog.  Isn't her work fantastic?  And now onto my take of this fun stamp set.

Using a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, I created a clean & quick card using hearts & arrows (which may be a sneak peek of a Friday Mashup challenge as well... *whistling*).

Here's the sketch -

Stamps: Hearts A Flutter, Peachy Keen, Express Yourself; Paper: Real Red, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Fresh Prints DSP; Ink: Real Red, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake; Accessories: Pearl jewel, Small Heart punch, Hearts A Flutter framelits, On Film framelits, Big Shot, Sewing machine, Thread, Dimensionals.

My large project is a wedding gift for my nephew and his new bride, who are marrying in Colorado on January 11.  Although there are a lot of elements in this project, I focused on Hearts A Flutter as my starting point.

I was able to acquire some intel to personalize the gift further, the wedding song, "Good to Be Alive" by Jason Gray, and the wedding colors, cranberry, black and ivory.  The song lyrics were typed up to use as text in the framed piece.  The intertwined hearts were designed on My Digital Studio and cut with an e-cutter.  Similarly the tree was e-cut using the Bold Branches download.  The mini envelope was created with the Envelope Punch Board, dimensions 3 x 3", scored at 1-1/4".

Playing off one of the squares, I created a coordinating card to go with the gift.  I love the ability we have in paper crafting to be matchy-matchy!

This was a huge undertaking for me, especially with Leadership swaps calling.  Definitely out of my comfort zone.  Now to transport it safely to Denver.

Stamps: Hearts A Flutter, Festive Flurry, Trust God; Paper: Raspberry Ripple, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Modern Medley DSP, Fancy Foil vellum, Champagne Glimmer; Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Gold Encore; Accessories: Pearl jewels, White taffeta ribbon, Gold baker's twine, Vintage Faceted button, Gold EP, Bird builder punch, Owl builder punch, Adorning Accents EF, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Hearts A Flutter framelits, Festive Flurry framelits, Hearts Collection framelits, Fashionable Hearts embosslit, Big Shot, Envelope Punch Board, My Digital Studio, e-cutter, Sewing machine, Thread.

Make sure you check out the next stop to see what lovelies Shana at Stress-Free Stamping with Shana put together with the set.
