I've got more mixed media challenge projects to share.
MIX19 - Smudgin' Around
This ATC was an experiment. I took the smudge MIX challenge to the next level by smudging some
acrylic paint on my stamp first. I created the stars with paint and a
toothpick. The base was created with paper scraps in the starburst
pattern, and then smearing the edges with acrylic paint and my finger.
Here's another one for this challenge, an entry in my daughter's Creativity Journal.
I figured my daughter would love to have a picture of her new kitten (which we
don't yet have). She was
thrilled! I smudged Sahara Sand on the polaroid frame to comply with the challenge.
MIX20 - Ack!! Black??
The challenge here was to use black for shading. I went with a vintage circus-themed card, similar to a card I made for the last SAB blog hop. Eek, I am totally in love with this one, and I have to give it away, since I made it for my nephew. Sniff.
MIX21 - Brilliant Pastels
Start with brilliant, bright colors and then tone them down with gesso or acrylic paint. Using Ky's video as inspiration, I applied Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray ink to a craft mat and smashed
my card stock into it. Then applied a layer of gesso with a sponge
brush. Another layer of Summer Starfruit and Basic Gray ink. Too
bright... another layer of gesso. Too muddy... another layer of Summer
Starfruit and Daffodil Delight ink. Then I dabbed more gesso on with
the sponge brush. I ended up with a cool marble look. But what to do
with it? I ended up making an simple antique-y looking sky scene with a
vintage plane image.
If you are interested in the supplies used for these projects, you can find them in my SCS gallery. Thanks for stopping by!
