Stampin' Addicts Spring Catalog Blog Hop

Hello Everyone, Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts Spring Catalog Blog Hop, which features amazing products from the upcoming Spring Catalog, starting January 3. Since the catalog isn't available yet, this is an easy way to get a sneak peek! So let's hop along!

If you have been following the blog hop in order, you have just come from Paula's post featuring the Pop Up Posies Designer Kit. Paula has some beautiful projects! Didn't she do a great job with this kit? Today I will show you some projects using the set By the Tide, a great masculine set.

First I'll show you a card I put together for our Stampin' Addict demo swap.  I was trying to incorporate the nautical look with horizontal stripes, both with designer series paper and embossing.

I inked up my background stamp and dabbed off some ink to give it a softer netting look.  The Natural Trim ribbon is thin enough to wrap it around the back of the panel layer, but I find it so easy to just tack down by zipping it through the sewing machine.

Stamps: By the Tide, That's the Ticket, Netting BG; Paper: Daffodil Delight, Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Parker's Patterns DSP; Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Black Stazon; Accessories: Silver Basics designer buttons, Natural Trim ribbon, Linen thread, Ticket Punch Duo, 1" Circle punch, Aquapainter, Stripes EF, Happy Whale clearlit, Big Shot, Sewing machine, Thread.

I thought the fish image, if colored right, could pass for a cold-water fish.  So I created a fish card, perfect for your favorite guy!  This card could be for a birthday or Father's Day, just fill in a sentiment.

I used the Petite Purse die to create a 2-D vintage fishing bag, and even the fishing pole is a "Huck Finn" type.  Huck has caught a smallmouth bass today.

Stamps: By the Tide, Netting BG; Paper: Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Parker's Patterns DSP; Ink: Cajun Craze, River Rock, Always Artichoke, Soft Suede, Black Stazon; Accessories: Linen thread, Silver brad, Scallop Dotted Ribbon border punch, Aquapainter, Sponge, Argyle EF, Square Lattice EF, 3-1/2 Circle die, Petite Purse die, Big Shot, Wooden skewer, Dimensionals.

And how about something a little more feminine, or at least less masculine?  I was thinking of a project reminiscent of the Florida Keys, perhaps Ernest Hemingway.

I've had a photo jar, complete with a candle and sand, on my stamping to-do list.  This set is perfect to create a little ensemble.

Stamps: By the Tide; Paper: Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Tea for Two DSP; Ink: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Pretty in Pink, River Rock, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede marker, Black Stazon;  Accessories: White baker's twine, Aquapainter, Brayer, Color Spritzer Tool, Fancy Fan EF, Big Shot, Dimensionals, Jar, Candle, Sand.

Great projects - such versatility with one set! And what a great way to use the purse die - so clever! TFS

Every one of these are amazing! All the little details on the first card keep me going back and finding new things, and the coloring on the smallmouth bass is fabulous (love the fishing creel using the purse die). The fancy fan embossing on the third card remind me of scallops, but you planned it that way, didn't you? Love them all, Heidi!
