Good Morning, Everyone! Today is time for another SU-Only Challenge, to use glitter or something shiny on a New Year's Eve card. What does everyone think of when thinking of New Year's Eve but the ball dropping in Times Square. Well, at least anyone who is within the same time zone as NYC. I could get to NYC by train in fairly short time, but stand out in that cold? No way! I'd much rather stay at home, eating snacks and sipping on punch, while watching the fun on TV.
So for my card, I tried to recreate the Times Square Ball.
I cut the skyline out of Basic Black cardstock and created the lit windows with the Daisy Dash wheel, inking only the dots with a Versamarker. The ball is created by using Sticky Pages on cardstock and punching a couple times with the Scallop Circle punch*. Then I applied the silver glass glitter. Doesn't it work great for a glittery crystal ball?
*I have to say use this method at your own risk. My punch survived but isn't too happy with me now.
Stamps: Holidays & Wishes, Daisy Dash wheel; Paper: Not Quite Navy, Brushed Silver, Very Vanilla, Basic Black; Ink: Versamark, Versamarker; Accessories: White embossing powder, Large Tag punch, Scallop Circle punch, Sticky pages, Silver glass glitter, Go Go Boots alphabet die, Big Shot.
Don't forget to come play along with us! Thanks for stopping by!

Look at you being all clever again! This is fantastic! BTW, I did the same thing with a circle punch and the poor thing paid the price. What an awesome card idea!
Clever, creative and timely for the season. Very nice card!
Nice job! Saw this on SCS and had to follow the trail :-)

Wow! Heidi this is simply amazing!!! You are so clever - love the way you made the skyline.
Such a great New Years card! Love the bling, the skyline - love it all!
I'm sorry your punch is so mad at you, since this is such a great card!
I love this!! What a clever New Year card!!
Wonderful card- what did yo use for the 2011 letters and the Happy New Year letters? I looked at the Go Go boots alphabet dies and none of it looked like the card
I used Go Go Boots die for the numbers, and the Holidays & Wishes stamp set for the sentiment.
