I needed a birthday card for my teenage nephew, traditionally a difficult age group to create for. Solution: I combined a couple of great ideas from other demonstrator websites.
Using spare rubber from my Stampin' Up stamp sets (don't throw that away!!), I created a brick background stamp, similar to what Michele Moran did on her blog. The brick size is 1/2 x 1"
Then using the guitar template provided on Sarah Wills's blog and CASEing her grommet and brad idea, I created the guitar. Just print the template on plain copy paper, adhere to cardstock with Dotto repositionable adhesive, and trim from there - super easy. To make the bricks a little more crisp, I stamped the brick background with Dusty Durango ink on Creamy Caramel cardstock, and I then masked the edges with post-it notes and sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa. The guitar was finished off with fishing line strings.
Thanks for stopping by!

What a brilliant idea for using the leftover rubber! So many big pieces, I hate throwing it away. TFS!
Absolutely brilliant- I had been saving the rubber from the stamp sets for awhile, then couldn't figure out what to do with them- thanks for the great idea!
That is amazing!!! What a great combination of ideas!
