The Stamp Review Crew: Thoughtful Branches

Welcome to the first Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We will be sharing our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  I'm pretty psyched about this limited-edition bundle, Thoughtful Branches & Beautiful Branches thinlits.  This set is only available for purchase August 2 - 31, while supplies last, so don't delay ordering yours!

You've probably arrived from the fabulous Bronwyn Eastley's blog.  Her projects are always a knock-out!

I won't be holding any events in August, so no opportunity to show this set to my ladies.  I thought it would be nice to pull together some note cards to stick into their order bags from July.

My hydrangea flower is double layered to make it look very full, as well as dimensional.  This card is pretty flat and perfect for mailing.

Stamps: Thoughtful Branches; Paper: Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, 2011-13 In Color DSP; Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Memento Tuxedo Black; Accessories: White Baker's Twine, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Brick Wall EF, Beautiful Branches Thinlits, Big Shot.

This set is pretty versatile, from flowers to trees, and I'm just loving the details on the thinlits!  Can you see how the inside of the hydrangea flowers (or leaves if you are making a tree) are cut out with the thinlit?  What an easy and fabulous way to add dimension to a card!  And my response when I saw the tree trunk/branches thinlit shape?  YES!  I've been wanting a tree outline die!

I wanted to make a white-on-white card, so I'm going for the full subtle look with a clear-embossed sentiment.  White-on-white can be so elegant!  This sketch comes from Fab Friday #91.

Stamps: Thoughtful Branches; Paper: Whisper White; Ink: Versamark; Accessories: White Baker's Twine, Clear Embossing Powder, Banner Triple Punch, Beautiful Branches Thinlits, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

Another useful item with this set is the Big Shot Die Brush (#140603).  Just run the brush over the die, once you run it through the Big Shot, and the little pieces just fall right out.

I'm a sucker for tall, skinny stick trees... reminds me of my beloved Canada.  So I had to make something with them.

Here I stamped with Versamark, and then stamped again slightly lower with Memento Tuxedo Black, and then emboss with clear embossing powder.  From there you can brayer or sponge.  The layout is from Less is More Sketch #18.

Stamps: Thoughtful Branches; Paper: Dapper Denim, Whisper White; Ink: Dapper Denim, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark; Accessories: White Baker's Twine, Clear Embossing Powder, 3/4" Circle Punch, Brayer, Sponge, Softly Falling EF, Beautiful Branches Thinlits, Big Shot, Post-it Notes, Dimensionals.

Make sure you check out the next stop to see what Shana at Stree-Free Stamping put together with the set. Her projects are always so lovely!

Don't forget about Bonus Days!  Receive a $5 coupon to use August 2 - 31 with every $50 purchase in July.  Use your coupons to help you grab up this set!

All of your cards are gorgeous! You have motivated me to start thinking about adding to my stash. I rarely like everything that a card maker posts. You are the exception!

Of course I love everything (green + purple = much happiness), but your skinny trees card is so wonderful. That sponging -- just my style!
