Mojo Birthday Ride

Here's a birthday card for my hubby to give to one of his biking buddies. Hubby does some hard core mountain biking, so this is sort of a joke. I imagine the two guys holding hands and leisurely picking flowers on their bikes. Makes me laugh!

A pretty straight forward card, with some masculine paper from the Spice Cake Suite. It was fun to add some punched flowers, curling the petals for dimension. I thought my flower centers could use something, but pearls or rhinestones would have been over the top for a guy's card.

It's been a while, but I'm actually on time to participate with this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

Stamps: Time for You; Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Spice Cake DSP; Ink: Soft Suede, Early Espresso, More Mustard, Basic Gray, Black Stazon; Accessories: Sponge, Aquapainter, Itty Bitty punch pack, Circle Scissors Plus, Texturz Plate Kit #4, 3" Circle die, Petal Cone die, Big Shot, Sewing machine, Thread.

And another little tidbit, just for fun. Hubby and another buddy rode a tandem bike in the recent night race. It was a Halloween race (although delayed one week due to the snow), so many people dressed up. Here's their embarrassing picture.

Thanks for stopping by!

Great card! I love those punched flowers! And really think you need to make a scrapbook page for that picture... :)

Great card, Heidi. I always liked this bike and I love how you've extended the flowers trailing out of the basket. Maybe you could have used silver brads for the centers - 'cause yeah - pearls would be over the top.
And I agree - ya just have ta scrapbook that picture! LOL

Great layout for a great card! Love the circles in the background. The picture of your hubby is too funny! I'm thinking poster size print would make a great Christmas present!

I'm with Holly on this one. Love the card, but the picture made the whole post. Can't wait to see the scrapbook page you make with that.

Now, that's two guys with a great sense of humor. That's hilarious!

Love your card. These two prints are some of my faves and you've put them together perfectly. I may just have to case this ;)
