6th Annual Hudson Valley Shoebox Swap

This past weekend was the 6th Annual Hudson Valley Shoebox Swap.  Friends don't let friends stamp alone!  I put together some spring flowers for the guests.  I thought the green ones would make a nice St. Patrick's Day treat.

I used Brenda Quintana's quick tutorial on how to put these together.

Paper: Subtles & Regals Collection DSP; Accessories: 1-1/4" Scallop punch, Secret Garden framelits, Spiral Flower die, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

We had lots of elbow room today. What a great day, ladies!

Happy Pi Day!

Hey fellow geeks!  You all know this is the most magical pi day of all, right?

So today, in 2015, right now at 9:26 am, is the Π moment!  In honor of this momentous occasion, I made for you a piece of Π.

I used October's Paper Pumpkin kit, Sweet as Pie.  As soon as I saw this kit, I knew it was meant for pi day, at least for me.  I also plan to using some pie pieces for teacher's gifts at the end of the year.

Stamps: Sweet as Pie (PP October 2014); Paper: Tangerine Tango, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Filter paper; Ink: Wild Wasabi; Accessories: White Satin Ribbon (PP July 2014), Pearl jewel, Mini Silver brad, Blossom punch, Confetti Heart border punch, e-cutter.

So, go have a piece of pie and enjoy!

Stampin' Up! Celebrate Today

I'm pretty pleased about the final project for stamp club this month.  We got to play with the fabulous coordinating stamp set and framelits bundle Celebrate Today.  And how about a coordinating Mini Treat Bag to go with the card?  So fun!

I used the rock-and-roll technique on the balloon, and INKspired Sketch #1 for the card.  I really wanted the treat bag to be like a drug store baggie, with paper that isn't too thick, so I grabbed one of the Festive Kraft rolls that are currently on the clearance rack.  Well, that's a perfect use for them!

Stamps: Celebrate Today; Paper: Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Whisper White, Birthday Bash DSP, Silver Glimmer paper, Festive Kraft Paper Roll; Ink: Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Memento Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Bermuda Bay Sequin trim, White baker's twine, Balloon framelits, Mini Treat Bag thinlits, Big Shot.

Clean Lotus

For stamp club, I wanted everyone to have a chance to play with coloring the Irresistibly Yours patterned paper.  This paper is wonderful, since you can color it any coordinating color you need in several different ways, sponging, spritzing, brayering, stamping.  It is embossed resist technique without the embossing step.

Here we sponged in black to give some nice patterned edging.

Stamps: Lotus Blossom, Four You; Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Irresistibly Yours DSP; Ink: Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black; Accessories: Gold Sequin trim, Sponge.
