FM54 Muppet-Inspired Project for the Kiddos

Today Holly brings us a kid-themed challenge at the Friday Mashup.

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :

1. Make a project using "Your Favorite Muppet Color Combo".
2. Or Make a project " for kids".
3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a " Project for a Kid using your Favorite Muppet Colors".

Little Missy and I went through a lot of iterations with this project. "What is your favorite muppet?" "Miss Piggy." Of course, since Piglet is her best friend. Ok, we'll start with pink and a pig. Then to YouTube to show her some examples of the Muppets... ♪mahna mahna, do do do do do....♪, oh sorry. Then her realization that Muppets are puppets. Then drag out the puppet stage and make some videos (which she said I needed to put on YouTube! Can you imagine, these days it isn't good enough to video tape yourself and watch it? At four, she already wants to be YouTube star so everyone can look!). Well, from Muppets to puppets to puppet stage to a puppet card inspired by a winning Stampin' Success project by Carrie Gaskin. As I type, Little Missy is excitedly playing with this puppet card. Kid tested and approved! :)

The stage part of the card was created out of a diorama card, seen better in the picture below. I had to use orange on the tractor as a shout out to my father and his Allis Chalmers.

3-D Thursday: Mini Baby Booties Shower Favor

Tulle, tulle, I swear I had a piece of blue tulle around here somewhere. Dang if I can find it. Off the fabric store I went, and also I little crazy I went, because tulle was on sale! So why not make a boy and a girl mini baby booties shower favors? Aren't these just adorable?

Some candies added in the swatch of tulle is the perfect delicate touch.

This is another 3-D project Little Missy can't wait to get her hands on. I'm not sure I want to give these up though. They were created using a template included in the June 2011 Hey Diddle Diddle issue of Paper Crafters Sampler.

PCS April Issue: Make Mine Vintage

The April issue of Paper Crafters Sampler, Make Mine Vintage, has arrived!

[ref] These treat cones are perfect for hanging from the back of a chair at a holiday dinner, such as Easter dinner, or for a party or wedding favor. These can also be hung from a door knob as a surprise for the recipient.

FM53 A-maze-ingly Cute Little Game Packet

Kasey brings us Friday Mashup's challenge today, which is a real challenge for me. I have a lot of cards I need to make, but none seem to quite fit into the tic tac toe pattern. So I hit two squares and a special fold. Hope she doesn't beat me with a wet noodle!

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :

1. Make a project using "a Special Fold".
2. Or Make a project using the "Tic Tac Toe Board".
3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Special Fold card using Tic Tac Toe".

So the two squares I hit were ribbons and brights.

This little game packet folds up similar to a matchbook. I created it by modifying the peek-a-boo treat holder on Splitcoaststampers. The dimensions are 3-1/4 x 9", score at 3, 3-1/4, 6-1/4, and 6-1/2". Here's the front cover, flipped back.

And fully opened.

I was worried about doing this project at the Hudson Valley shoebox swap, because the little balls in the maze could so easily be lost. Well, what did I do? I dropped both and lost one. Grrrr!

Easter Cross Table Decoration

Melanie has a free wedge-based cross template available on the Paper Crafters Sampler website, which is a quick and easy way to dress up your Easter table.

I went with a green and yellow spring theme, using Twitterpated DSP and my favorite current watercoloring stamp set, Bordering on Romance. This project also fits well into Shelli's current challenge, Green & Growing.

Stampin' Up Only Challenges is having a congratulations challenge this week. The first thing I think of when someone mentions congratulations is the Dutch custom of shaking every family member's hand, when one of the family is having a birthday, while saying "Gefeliciteerd" or "Congratulations". Congratulations on reaching another birthday? Congratuations for making it this long? I don't know. :) And "Congratulations on your brother's or sister's birthday" sounds strange to an American. If it's a large family, there could be a lot of hand-shaking. Every time someone comes over to visit that day, and house calls to the birthday honoree is another well-established tradition, there is hand-shaking all around. I won't even get into the amount of pie and coffee that is consumed.

So, in honor of this Dutch tradition, my congratulations card could be a birthday card. We can definitely say this elephant is celebrating something!

And what says party more than pennants and balloons? The sentiment was printed with My Digital Studio.
