Loving The SAB Colors!

First off, can I tell you I have so much stamping stuff to do, and I'm goofing off? Shhhh! Don't tell! I set out to play along with the Stampin' Celebration challenge (waving hi, Krystal!), and the new blog header was really talking to me. I have seen many banner cards, and I aimed to make one for myself.

A birthday celebration has to be colorful, right? I used the new Sale-a-bration Ice Cream Parlor DSP and ribbon & button pack. They gots color!!!

I used the Build a Cupcake punch from the Occasion mini, and I also used a past layout from the Friday Mashup! I was meaning to put a sentiment on the card, but there was no room. No matter; just slap that baby inside! Fun stuff!!

Paper: Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, SAB Ice Cream Parlor DSP; Ink: Chocolate Chip marker, Accessories: Square Scallop punch, Build a Cupcake punch, Scallop Edge punch, Ice Cream Parlor ribbon & button pack, Linen thread, White cord, Crimper, Crystal Effects, Coluzzle, Dimensionals.

Scrapbook Friday: MDS Winter Fun

Fellow blogger Krystal inspired me to post one of the MDS photo pages I am working on. I can't say I will be posting MDS once a week, like her, but I will be working on the 2010 photo album while in Florida next month. I will be sharing my progress.

I used a sketch from the Front Row Regionals scrapbook page as my starting point.

This is a picture of my 3-1/2 year-old daughter, while we were sledding after the big Northeast snow storm. It was just the two of us, so I had to send her down the hill by herself while I grabbed some photos.

And unfortunately I didn't get a photo of what happened after this. She INSISTED on going down the big steep hill, the one which teenagers had built up a snow ramp at the bottom. Yes, she is a daredevil! I told her I was scared, but that didn't deter her. So off we went, and boy did we catch air! Wish I had a photo of that!!

MDS Elements - Stamps: Winter Post; Colors: Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Soft Suede; Accessories: Buttons Pack Subtles, Wide Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon.

3-D Thursday: Sweetie Box... Goth-Style

Recall I showed you last week a sneak peek of my project for this month's Paper Crafters Sampler. I've created another project, using the same template and instructions, a paper-crafted heart-shaped box.

I thought Love Letter DSP would be perfect for this project. I played with making paper roses out of all different paper patterns. I really love this red and black combination.

This Goth genre is a "blast from the past", my earlier youth days. Would you believe me if I told you I have a black rose tattoo? And not in an inconspiuous spot either. :)

Of course you have to fill your box with some chocolatey goodness!

For the original project and the heart box template, please visit Paper Crafters Sampler. Use code PCSHB.

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper: Riding Hood Red, Sahara Sand, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Love Letter DSP, Newsprint DSP; Ink: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black; Accessories: Sponges, Floral wire, Black lace, Little Leaves die, Birds & Blooms die, Big Shot, Tombo multipurpose adhesive, Valentine box template.

Decor Elements Abound

So, I've had some decor elements sitting around, waiting to be applied. These are either big (scary) items, which require multiple pairs of hands, or some ceiling items, which requires a tall person. I needed to request some hubby time. Nearly a year later, I finally said, "During this holiday break, we are putting these up."

This is the corner of the stamping area, aka formal dining room, where we applied Long Stem Silhouette (Large Chocolate, #114124, $34.95).

And the dining room table in place.

And here is a continuation of the transformation of my daughter's bedroom into "princess land". We applied Clouds, Stars & Moon decor elements (Definitely Decorative p. 14, $7.95) to her ceiling above her bed.

Yep, I laid in her bed to take the picture. These are super easy ways to dress up the house!

SUOC10 Hello Baby!

Good morning, Everyone! Time for another SU-Only Challenge - this challenge is for a baby card. Anything relating to babies... baptism, christening, baby shower, welcome baby...

I have been in love with the sweet pea baby images for a while, but I don't own any. I was particular smitten with this card by Makeesha. So I wondered if I could create my own sweet pea.

I created the larger and smaller tear-shaped pod using oval punches. I glued the Marina Mist pod to Whisper White cardstock and free-hand cut a margin. The leaves were created using the Bird & Blooms die, scored with a stylus, and sponged. I made little curly vines by cutting thin strips of Old Olive cardstock and curling by hand. The stem is also cut free-hand. This was also my first shot at the double-loop bow, as described by Sharon Field.

I used another sneak peek Pacific Point button from the Sale-a-bration Ice Cream Parlor ribbon & button pack.

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper: Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Whisper White, Greenhouse Gala DSP; Ink: Marina Mist, Old Olive; Accessories: Sponge, Subtles Collection buttons, Regals Collections buttons, SAB Ice Cream Parlor ribbon & button pack, White satin ribbon, Wide Oval punch, Large Oval punch, Circle Scissors Plus, Birds & Blooms die, Scallop Circle #2 die, Big Shot, Sewing machine, Thread, Mini glue dots.

Pink & Blue Snowflakes

The colors for a previous ColourQ challenge reminded me of my favorite winter pajamas, pink with white and pink snowflakes. I've been waiting to find some time to play with the Season of Friendship set, so this inspired me to create a pink snowflake card.

I brayered with Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose to create the background color. I stamped Regal Rose snowflakes, and created snow with my favorite technique, hand-torn and glittered drifts. More sparkle with a Pear Pizzazz glimmer brad.

Stamps: Season of Friendship; Paper: Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White; Ink: Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Real Red, Pear Pizzazz; Accessories: Brayer, Pear Pizzazz ribbon, In Color glimmer brad, Two-way glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Northern Flurry embossing folder, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

I then went with the same layout for a blue snowflake tree, using the colors from the Color Lab Color Challenge #22.

This is also be a good submission for the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #34.

I brayered with Baja Breeze and Marina Mist ink. And do you see a sneak peek item? I used a Pacific Point button from the Sale-a-bration Ice Cream Parlor ribbon & button pack. Don't you want to earn fun accessories like this for free? Don't forget to book your Sale-a-bration workshop now!

Stamps: Season of Friendship; Paper: Baja Breeze, Night of Navy, Whisper White; Ink: Baja Breeze, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Pacific Point; Accessories: Brayer, Pacific Point ribbon, SAB Ice Cream Parlor ribbon & button pack, Linen thread, Tombo multipurpose glue, Silver beads, Two-way glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Northern Flurry embossing folder, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

Hello Chickadee!

I sat down to play with the bird image from the new Occasions mini set Nature Walk, inspired by Our Creative Corner's inspiration challenge (chickadees), and this card took off and was banged out in no time.

I used the Mojo Monday sketch for the layout.

Ok, I know the bird isn't quite shaped like a cold chickadee you'd see outside your window. Just squint your eyes and imagine. I love the layout of this clean & simple card. The sentiment is computer-generated.

Stamps: Nature Walk, Peaceful Wishes; Paper: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Deck the Halls DSP; Ink: Always Articoke, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Going Gray, So Saffron, Black Stazon, Cherry Cobbler marker, Basic Black marker; Accessories: Scallop Circle punch, Sponges, Aquapainter, Circle Scissors Plus, White gel pen.
