The Stamp Review Crew: Botanical Blooms

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  Today we are focusing on a wonderful bundle from the recent Occasions Catalog, Botanical Blooms and coordinating Botantical Builder framelits.  If you are following the hop in order, you have just arrived from the amazing Dawn Tidd's blog.

So, I've had this bundle for a while, and this is the first I am using it.  So many wonderful products, so little time!  Tell me I'm not the only one!

I love killing two birds with one stone, so to speak, so I've combined my card for the Sunday Stamps Challenge #132 with Botanical Blooms.  This set has the perfect foliage to complement the No Bones About It set.

And bonus, I got to use up more DSP scraps hanging around on my desk.  Here's this week's Sunday Stamps sketch.

Stamps: Botanical Blooms, No Bones About It, Thoughtful Banners; Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, 2011-13 In Color DSP; Ink: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Island Indigo; Accessories: Linen Thread, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Botanical Builder Framelits, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

I created a card for stamp club, and it's a perfect time to share it here.

I combined some ideas from Dena Rekow and Amy Koenders to come up with this card.  The striped background trend has been around for a bit, but I still love the bold look!

I used 3/4" stripes of Basic Black card stock to create the background.  The flowers are sponged with Calypso Coral and Soft Suede inks.  And here's a fun hint for the linen thread: tie a big bow or loop knot and attach to the back of the flower with a glue dot for some easy loops.

Stamps: Botanical Blooms, Thoughtful Banners; Paper: Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White; Ink: Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Memento Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Linen Thread, Banner Triple Punch, Sponges, Botanical Builder Framelits, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

Hop on over to my friend, Mickey Roberts's, blog to see what she put together with this set. Her projects are always wonderful!

Love your take on the sketch and how you assembled everything. A super card for a dinosaur loving young (or old) boy.
