The Stamp Review Crew: Jingle All the Way

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  This week we are playing with the holiday set, Jingle All the Way, which coordinates with the Sleigh Ride silhouette dies.  If you are following the hop in order, you've arrived from Dawn Tidd's blog.  She always has such lovely projects!

I am in love with the Sleigh Ride dies!  They are really the star, leading to easy cards with an addition of a background layer, while the Jingle All the Way stamp set provides seamless sentiments and coordinating images.

For stamp club, I went with an elegant white-on-white Christmas card.  Using patterned paper for the background, here's the quick & easy version:

And here's the stepped-up version:

I used the ink smash technique to create the dark and dramatic background.

Stamps: Jingle All the Way; Paper: Whisper White, Season of Cheer DSP, Watercolor paper; Ink: Marina Mist, Night of Navy; Accessories: Silver Cording trim, White embossing powder, Watercolor brush, Sleigh Ride edgelits, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

I thought I'd give a shot to using some of the smaller stamps in this set.  These guys are actually the perfectly-sized for ATC's, and that kind of narrower panel was my starting point for creativity.  I was imagining a White Fang scene for this card.

Here I mostly did a bunch of sponging and blending to create a scene.  While creating a prototype idea for this card a couple weeks ago, I used the "silent night" stamp which has since gone missing.  I don't have a good feeling about this one, since it has been many days since I last used it, and certainly it wasn't showing up by the time this blog hop went live.  Therefore I'm skipping the sentiment on this card.  Think good thoughts it will reappear down the road.

Stamps: Jingle All the Way, Festival of Trees; Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White; Ink: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo, Night of Navy, Wisteria Wonder, Basic Black Archival, Whisper White Craft, Versamark; Accessories: White embossing powder, Watercolor brush, Sponges, Post-It Notes.

Hop on over to Sue Plote's blog to see what she put together with this set. Her projects are always amazing!

Wow! What a trio!! I love all three of these, Heidi! I do hope your stamp shows up. I found one once on the bottom of an ink pad. :)

These are gorgeous! I still have a stamp or two "running free" somewhere in my stamp room too!

They're all great. I love the stars on the stepped up version. The sponged panel card is very pretty.

All of these cards are gorgeous! I love that you showed the smash technique card too as a way to get a similar look to the DSP card. I really hope your "silent night" shows up. Tell it to bring my snowman from White Christmas back with it...

Heidi, your second card is my favorite! Love the shading of the snowbanks and how clever you are to stamp a set of trees behind the hill!
