FM167 Watercolor Wash Friend

It's my turn to host the Friday Mashup challenge.  This week, the challenge is to create a card using the watercolor technique and with a clean & simple (CAS) or minimal layer layout.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a Project with a "Watercolor Wash".
  • Create a "CAS project or one with Minimal Layers".
  • or Mash it Up! and create a "CAS project with a Watercolor Wash".
Watercolor wash is a fun way to fill the background quickly with soft or vibrant color, and you can find a tutorial here.  I can't wait to see what you create!

As I have been selling off some retired stamps, there is one stamp set I once owned, way in the beginning, that I really miss.  In the past, I would borrow my mom's to get my fix, but she is moving to FL with the set!  So off to the 'bay to find it again, and I did!  I just love my early stamp sets, and can't bear to part with (nearly) all of them.  How about you?

I love how the watercolor background gives a soft and irregular feel.  I first wet the paper liberally with water and a brush, and then I added three colors of blue.  I threw some course salt on the background to add to the irregular look.  We won't talk about the smudges due to my impatience.  :)

Stamps: Blossoms Abound; Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Watercolor paper; Ink: Soft Sky, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Perfect Plum, Blackberry Bliss; Accessories: Paint brush, Salt, Sewing machine, Thread.

Beautiful card!! Good grief, I MUST order some blackberry bliss!!!

I rarely get rid of retired sets, but I have a box filled with some due to space issues. Ironically, I never had the set you used...it retired shortly after I really got into my habit, umm, hobby. BUT I would snatch it up if I saw it available. *wink*

Wow, this is beautiful, Heidi. Love the blue background with the grapes and leaves in such bold colors.
