FM162 Movable Stripes

Hi Everyone, As I was playing with Sea Street for an upcoming swap, I created this reject card.  Of course, there is nothing wrong with this card, but it just wasn't the look I was aiming for with this set.

Has that ever happened to you?  You have an idea in mind, but when you get it on paper, it just doesn't come out like you wanted?  Yeah, me too... all the time!

But I did realize this card would qualify for Tara's Friday Mashup challenge.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project with "Stripes".
  • Create a project with "Movable or Removable elements".
  • or Mashup it Up! and create a project with "Movable Elements & Stripes".

For the Mashup, I originally had a different card in mind, which would not have stripes.  Now I have this card, which is kinda stretching the movable item requirement (the medallion on the tag can move).  Can't win them all.  :)

A fun little trick for this card - I stamped the octopus image and trimmed the tag to 2" on the top and bottom, and then hand-cut around the octopus so he would be hanging off the edge.  The sketch is loosely based on Retro Sketches #104.

Stamps: Sea Street, Itty Bitty Banners, World Map BG; Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Maritime DSP; Ink: Night of Navy, Real Red, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake; Accessories: Coastal Cabana baker's twine, Clear embossing powder, 1" Circle punch, 1-1/4" Scallop Circle punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, Bitty Banners framelits, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

Heidi, sharp looking card. And it is amazing how you made the anchor free moving....heeheehee. I really love your design, colors, and the background stamp. I think this would be a great class card. Thanks for sharing!

Love what you did with the octopus! So cute to have his tentacles hanging off the edge of the tag.
