FM116 Toes in the Water, Toes in the Sand...

Time for another Friday Mashup.  Lili has brought us masking at the beach.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using the "Masking Technique".
  2. Create a project with some "Beach elements".
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a "Beach'y project using Masking".
Initially I thought about masking stamp images to produce the illusion of depth.  My beach stamp sets are a bit cartoon-y, and I wanted something more realistic.  I started layout down masks without a real concrete idea of where I was going with it.  How do you think it came out?

I brayered the sky and water and sponged the beach.  I kinda like it in a abstract, watercolor (read: sloppy) kind of way.

Stamps: Tropical Party, Friendly Phrases; Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White; Ink: Marina Mist, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Gumball Green, So Saffron, Black Stazon; Accessories: Hemp Twine, Brayer, Sponges, Circle punch, Post-It Notes, Dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by!

I think this came out great, Heidi! I love the more 'realistic' look - you've created quite the relxaing scene here. The knot in the hemp twine is just the icing on the cake.

This is gorgeous, be truthful, how many tries did it take to get it to look like this? I can not stop going back and looking at this card over and over.

Fabulous card Heidi! Love the brayered/sponged scenic strip you've created against the white background, and the overlapping sentiment is perfect!
