MDSM8 At Night, They Ride...

It's Monday!  Time for another MDS Monday challenge.  Holly is host this week with the following sketch.

Oh boy, I looked through my photos, and I couldn't hardly find anything that would tell a story in two photos.  I finally came up with the night mountain biking race that's held here annually at Halloween time.  Costumes are encouraged, and of course, they have a costume contest as well as a race.  You have to really think about what kind of costume you would like to wear for an hour, sweating in the woods, that won't snag on trees, get stuck in the gears, fall apart, and also allows for headlights on your helmet.

Yes, sigh, I am married to one of these Monster girls.  Why do guys always want to dress up with the biggest boobs?!

I just finally watched the video on how to use the Paper Rip Option.  While I was creating this page, I thought paper rip would be great to make it look like the monster slash.  For the background, it was a two step process.
  • Create background as desired one a page and export as a jpeg.
  • Place four photo boxes next to each other, group them, and photo fill grouped boxes with the exported jpeg background file.
  • Ungroup them to apply the paper rip option and drop shadows.
  • I added a video post here on how to make the background.
Fun!  I love to get creative with the background to match the subject of the page.

MDS Elements: Stamps: French Foliage, Natural Composition Overlays, Textured; Paper: Nite Owl DSP; Color Palette: Raspberry Ripple, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Gray, Basic Black; Accessories: Downtown Grunge frame, Staple, Cog punch; Font: Smudger LET.

Thanks for stopping by!

Heidi, I absolutely LOVE your ripped paper for this spread. Wouldn't want to come in contact with those claws! The blood drops work too!
