What Was Your First?

I have a question for you - What was your first stamp set?  Does it still hold a special place in your heart?

Mine was Like It A Latte, and yes, I still love it!  It was the one that pushed me over the edge to place my first order of everything I needed to make those cards in the catalog.  It was my first.  You never forget your first...

Every winter I pull this stamp set out to make some yummy hot drink card.  Did you see this month's photo from Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge (lower left)?  Well, minty hot chocolate, here I come!

And here is my creation.

Hopefully you get the feel of the peppermint bark and peppermint sprinkles on the hot chocolate.

Thanks for stopping by!

My first stamp set was Polka Dot Punches and I still have it. Now you've inspired me to dig it out and use it!

This is so cute Heidi!! Love how you chose the peppermint bark for your inspiration! My first stamp set was Contempo Christmas. It was the punches that matched the stamps that pushed me over the edge! I become a demo a week later. lol! Thanks for joining us at Stampin' Celebration! :)

I wasn't into SU when this set came out, but I did end up getting my hands on it and still love it. I think my first set might have been Both Way Blossoms.

As a lover of peppermint bark, I love this one, Heidi. Great card and a great trip down memory lane. :)

My first stamp set was Stars & Swirls...and when it hit the retiring list, I bought a second set because a.) I loved it so much and b.) I'd kinda undercut the rubber on my first one but still really wanted to keep it :) Love your Like it a Latte card, it's adorable!

umm...now I fell bad because I don't remember my first stamp. I am sure it feels bad for me forgetting about it too. But I do like your card and I do get the feel of the peppermint bark and sprinkles! Thanks for joining us this month Heidi!

Oh, I love Like it a Latte and your card! My first stamp set was "Fishin'". I think I got it way back in 1999. My dad and my son both loved fly fishing so I was bound to get a lot of use out of it. I made a Father's Day card with it for my dad in 2000. Before I gave him the card he was in an accident and in the hospital, unconscious, for Father's Day. I set it on the table in his room and I have to believe he saw it. I also submitted the card to SU and it was published in their Book II, the second volume of Portfolio II, pg 24, also in 2000. To me it was my dad saying, "Hey, kid, you did good!"

I wish I remembered!! I know the set that got me started with Stampin' Up! was Frosty. My niece had sent a Christmas card using that and I loved it!! I don't know that I ever bought it however. You've got me thinking now. Hmmm.

Love the sprinkles! I am actually wishing for a cupcake and hot chocolate now after seeing your card. ;)

The very first stamp set that I bought is Baroque Motifs. I don't use it often anymore and have actually outgrown the set. I keep it handy for the large swirl.
