Time to make a birthday card for Dad, and I wanted to use new stamps. I didn't think he would appreciate flowers, so Artistic Etchings it is.
I just took a few brayering classes with Michelle Zindorf, so why not practice, right? I know that the Eiffel Tower isn't sitting in the middle of an island, but just pretend, right? Imagine the river without the rest of Paris in the background.
I am so glad I took those classes. In the first five minutes, I found out what I was doing wrong. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out, as my first "on my own" design. The reflection is done by stamping on plastic and quickly flipping it over and rubbing the wet ink on the cardstock. The Stamp-a-ma-jig image sheet is perfect for this (use the smooth side). And wouldn't you know it but it was perfect, and then I assembled the card and got a white spot on it. :( Oh well!
Stamps: Artistic Etchings; Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy; Ink: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Basic Black, Whisper White craft; Accessories: Brayer, Post-it notes, Sponges, White gel pen, Topnote die, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Big Shot.
And we were about to leave to head to Dad's party, and Little Missy started pulling out stamps and markers. She said she had to make a card for Grandpa - so cute! Happy Birthday, Dad!
Thanks for stopping by!
