Occasions Mini Blog Hop

Happy New Year and welcome to Stampin' Addicts Occasions Mini Blog Hop. This blog hop features stamp sets and accessories from the upcoming Occasions Mini, available January 5th. Come take a trip around to get a sneak peek of the new goodies before the mini is available. Hope you enjoy your trip!

If you have been following the blog hop in order you've just seen Cheryl's wonderful creations featuring Well Scripted. I have something sweet for you, that is, the stamp set Something Sweet! This set comes with a gumball machine, baby rattle, and sunflower images, and coordinates with the Sweet Treat cups and 1-3/4" Circle punch.

- Sweet as Bubble Gum -
This set comes with the cutest gumballs, jelly beans, and hearts with which to fill the gumball machine.

This is a card I created for an Occasions mini swap. Don't these colors just remind you of bubble gum? I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to place the pink jelly beans, and I paper pieced and popped up the red heart beans for added interest. It also uses the new "glitter" Sending Love Specialty Designer Series paper. Glitter paper - YUM! You can see more ideas with this paper at Barbara's stop on the blog hop.

Stamps: Something Sweet; Paper: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Sending Love DSP; Ink: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip; Accessories: Sponges, Silver brads, Large oval punch, Scallop oval punch, Heart to Heart punch, Backgrounds I Texturz plate, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

- Something Fishy - Have you ever seen those cute fish tanks made to look like gumball machines? That's exactly what the little fishies reminded me of. I tried a couple different ways to create my idea.

This one was made with masking and sponging on Whisper White cardstock and embossing with clear embossing powder.

This card uses the Sweet Treat cups and the 1-3/4" circle punch. Love those cups!! So fun to fill them with all sorts of things. Here I filled the cup with water and just a tad of blue food coloring. The cup is sealed with a square of acetate, and the stamped image is mounted behind the acetate. Did you notice another yummy accessory from the new mini? Real Red corduroy buttons!

Here is the close-up views of both main images. You can see on the left how I embossed with clear embossing powder to make the fish tank look glassy.

Stamps: Something Sweet, Pocket Silhouettes, Sincere Saluations; Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Whisper White, Sending Love DSP; Ink: Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust; Accessories: Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain ribbon, Silver brads, Curly label punch, Large oval punch, 1-3/4" Circle punch, Real Red & Chocolate Chip corduroy buttons, Sponge, Clear embossing powder, Sweet Treat cup, Acetate, Water & food coloring, Background I Texturz plate, Naturally Serif Alphabet die, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

- Baby on the Way - This is a really cute idea for a baby shower favor, a dressed-up cookie treat.

I love filling those Sweet Treat cups with Jelly Bellies. They are just so colorful! The flavor shown here is called Top Banana. For this favor, I scored a 4 x 11" piece of cardstock at 5" and 6".

Stamps: Something Sweet; Paper: Bashful Blue, Textured Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Textured Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie; Ink: Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip; Accessories: Scallop edge punch, Trio flower punch, Slot punch, Silver brad, Crushed Curry 1/2" grosgrain ribbon, Linen Thread, Sweet Treat cup, Jelly Bellies, Medium cello bag, Background I Texturz plate, Naturally Serif Alphabet die, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

I have lots more ideas for this set. Make sure you stop by again soon to check them out!

Oh my goodness! I love the heart gumballs (they remind me of heart Sprees at Valentine's). My favorite project, though, is the fish card. I love how you showed it with the sweet treat cups and an option without the cup. Very cute embossing!

Could you e-mail me how you mask? When I use a post-it note I can never get the ink to go flush against the post-it note cut out. Thanks.
